This is the first time I have ever encounter a bride, whom after her wedding, the first weekend, instead of going for her honeymoon, went for a holiday with her girlfriends..! So here we are, the Polo Mento family, went to HK. The only regret was that ibanker could not make it, so it is just 3 of us.
First stop after we checked in to our hotel Lanson Place was Lei Garden @ TST. I think we were probably too tired, so we did not order a lot, and somehow did not taste as good.
Carrot Cake
We shopped a while in TST, and had to go back to hotel to sleep, as we were too exhaused by 1600HR+. After a nap, we met Hsiang Ying, her husband and another friend for dinner. Dinner was at a local restaurant in North Point, just above a wet market! The name of the place is Dong Bao Xiao Guan. Very good food! We had 6 dishes, wanted to order 7, but according to Hsiang Ying's husband, HongKongers do not order 7 dishes, unless is funeral!
They use bowls to drink beer! Strange
Cheers!
Fried Trotters. Yummy!
风沙鸡. Roast Chicken! Crispy skin, with garlic..what else can you ask for?
Lotus Leaf Rice, the best i have ever tried. In fact, because of this, our benchmark of a lotus leaf rice was raised so high, that the rest that we ate for the remaining 3 days were not good anymore!
This is fish
This is an interesting dish. Usually in Singapore, we use another type of the green leafy spinach. Here they use hairy Gourd, and it still taste very good!
After dinner, we took the Ding Ding (the tram) to go back to Causeway Bay, for Round 2- Dessert at Fa Ji! This is only one of the dessert, Mango Pomelo!
While walking back to the hotel after dessert at Fa Ji, we found another dessert place that we have listed in our foodlist - for the Steamed Milk!!! Of course we have to try..And finally reached back to the hotel at 0100Hr..Tired but a satisifed stomach...Good night..
The photos bring back a lot of fond memories. :) Totally agree that Dong Bao Xiao Guan is the best!
